There will be a lot of people, in graphite prospecting company board rooms around the world, sweating on the results of the drill hole analysis from Triton’s Nicaba Hill. These are intercepts fully comparable in length with those reported by Syrah, at Balama. If Triton come up with graphite grades near the cutoff grade used by Syrah (13% graphite), then we will have two very large, high-grade, graphite resources battling it out for the market.

If that happens, where does it leave all the smaller companies, currently trying to develop graphite mines? One very large, low-cost producer, such as Syrah, might well simply set a floor under the market, and, effectively, allow the rest to struggle along. But if there were two such companies battling for the market, each with essentially unlimited graphite resources, then the prospects for any of the smaller companies would become grim, indeed.

This report is not good news for any of the companies planning production of less than 100K tons per year, or with average grades below 10-13% graphite.

Those analysis results from Triton will get very close attention.

Islay, that grandiose represents an enormous naiviety of the market place, almost comical.

Right On Tracy! I’v made small comment contributions over the years always making sure I at least sound rational and respectful if not nearly as knowledgeable as most of this site’s contributors. PS never saw “goldman” tag before and hope I never do again.
