I sincerely congratulate George Bauk on being the first in taking advantage of the dysprosium supply situation in China and making the best deal for his shareholders. In fact George should now be seen as in first place among the financial managers in the junior rare earth mining sector.
I have to say, “George gets it!”

Thanks Jack. I must 2nd your compliment — and while I know we have been tweeting this out: will go do this another round or two. I need to get George back in the office for another interview when he is here for PDAC. BTW, congrats Jack on your bull run article breaking records yesterday: someone else is obviously paying attention as well.

No criticism of Northern Minerals, however is this now the benchmark for the best a western REE company can hope for? Chinese investment, made at a 6-year low in the value of the Australian dollar? I had hoped for more from western REE consumers.

    James,

Australia has been reliant on foreign capital for development
since the first fleet. And as Northern hold some of Australia’s
best mining secrets-the timing is perfect!

I guess my comment is general rather than specific to Northern Minerals. Due to the exchange rate fall, the transaction is as cheap as it could have been for a while. A Chinese group has taken control of a significant Australian REE asset at a fairly modest price. But, the money needs to come from somewhere. It may trigger more attention from the EU on Tasman or the US government on an asset there. (?)

James, “..the transaction is as cheap as it could be..”. Are you serious? Have a look how much money has been raised in the sector by juniors lately and compare it to what NML has raised.
FYI, it is the tough market and tough times out there.
This is excellent achievement by NML.
