Presumably there is no one that reads InvestorIntel that has not consumed Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill at some time or another. While it is as I affectionately refer to as “a lawyer’s idea of a really good time” the theme appeals to all us in that we strive for greater riches.

It has been my contention that the real reason many of us aren’t as wealthy as we should or could be is that we have a pre-requisite for pleasure. No one is going to argue that few of us willingly delve into research reports for our portfolio on Friday night unless distressed and accompanied with a bottle of wine.

Imagine if there was a real shortcut?

Visualize for a moment a wealth builder book you could read effortlessly that wasn’t accompanied by an onerous chore list that we never finish? And of course, tells you in the disclaimer that if you didn’t get rich by the end of the self espoused manual that it was because your pencil wasn’t sharp enough?

Allow me to introduce you to the Holy Grail of building wealth – a book written by Dr Greg Reid with Gary M Krebs titled: Wealth Made Easy.

Perhaps you have heard of life hacking? Wikipedia defines Life hack or life hacking as “any trick, shortcut, skill, or novelty method that increases productivity and efficiency, in all walks of life.” Allow me to introduce you to Dr Greg Reid who has created the ultimate guide to wealth hacking.

So, let’s start with what this “crack the code to getting rich book” isn’t. This isn’t a new age, meditate, feel good and dream it and will come to which I get solicited to review on a regular basis. Nor is it an equally waste my time and tell me what Buffet, Forbes and Gates told me they said, written by a well intentioned recent business school graduate. Nope this is exactly what it promises, a series of 74 wealth hacks, written in moderately entertaining 2-4 page stories that backs up Reid’s formulas with examples that even a 6th grader can understand.

I like it.

After all, Einstein said it best when he said, “If you can’t explain it to a six-year-old, you don’t understand it yourself.” Apparently, Reid got the text…and wrote the wealth book.

Wealth Made Easy is poised to become the top wealth hacking must read for anyone who is ready to get rich or better yet — richer. Enjoyed this quick read so much, I plan on doing a consequent Top 5 of the 74 Wealth Hacks next week. Let me add, I didn’t say this book was perfect, and I did refer to it as “The Book that Makes you go Duh” to my partner whom I read a few of these wealth hacks out loud to over the last several weeks while consuming too many coffees…

But ultimately? Well if you can believe this as I shake my head in my own disbelief, I inadvertently increased my focus, made better business decisions and have increased my personal net worth in less than 3-weeks. What can I say? Ah yes, read it faster! Enjoy.
